Lift: Lessons learned in pain

Lift is a new nineties influenced band from Connecticut. Their bass player is called Sean Martin, but it turns out he did not play in Hatebreed. Nonetheless  members of Lift earned their stripes in bands like With honor, Hostage calm, Cold snap and Ambitions.

On Lessons learned in pain these guys deliver us 2 songs that have a mid nineties sound to them. Where most bands that want to revive the nineties seem to draw their influences from the early metal core bands like Morning again and thus include as much slayer inspired riffs as possible in their music, Lift opts for something else. These 2 songs bring Snapcase, Slugfest and Despair to mind.

I must admit that I’m not the biggest fan of all the nineties revival bands, but Lift really hits all the right buttons.
